TeamCam is an easy-to-use iOS camera app ... with a difference.

Companies often need to capture photos or videos for business use, such as marketing, social media, or documentation, but sometimes the content can be sensitive in nature - perhaps relating to healthcare, auditing, or insurance for example.

Taking a photo using the built-in camera app and sending it to head office as an email attachment will obviously work but this is less than ideal if the content is sensitive, because the photo remains on the device, and if it's a shared device serious confidentiality issues could arise.

Company Setup

The company's head TeamCam administrator will sign-up then add their company details. This includes the company name and an optional logo. Further customisation can be made to the apps appearance if required.

The administrator next needs to use in-app purchases to buy a subscription (see below) which sets the maximum number of users and activates all administrator features.

Invitations can now be sent to employees or external contrators (Users) , providing instructions on how to download TeamCam and join the company.

Taking Photos & Videos

After sign-up (it's free by the way), employees, contractors, even administrators can all take photos and record short videos.

Before taking a series of photos/videos a few basic details must be entered. Each item in the series will be tagged with these details.

Photos and Videos are not saved to the built-in photo library. They are temporarily stored within TeamCam until upload is complete. Once uploaded, they can only be viewed by administrators.

The Media Library

Administrators can search for uploaded photos and videos using pre-defined filters. The search results are shown as a grid of thumbnails. Tapping on a thumbnail will display the photo or play the video. Item details can also be viewed together with the capture location on a map.

Basic editing (crop/rotate) is available for photos, with the edited version being uploaded as a seperate copy. Important items can then be saved to a desktop computer or shared via other apps.

Users have a limited item quota, determined by the subscription plan. When this quota is reached and a new item is added, the oldest item will be deleted. Therefore it's important to download items as soon as possible.
